The “Black Cat” Air Jordan 3′s were the second pair of “Black Cat” Air Jordans to release. The year before the first “Black Cat” retro Air Jordans came to fruition on the Jordan 4.
The Air Jordan 3 (III) Retro – Black Cat (Black / Dark Charcoal – Black) is very popular, as are many of the Air Jordan 3 (III). It features a simple all black colorway, but has a lot going on, as it consists of nubuck, elephant print on the toe and heel areas, as well as black patent leather. The nubuck upper provides a material contrast to the black patent leather which goes around almost the entire shoe. The midsole of the shoe is two toned with a shiny black color on top to match the patent leather and a charcoal color on bottom which is the secondary color of the shoe.
You can’t have the “Pure $” without the “Black Cat.” To finish off the theme, it was the last colorway for the Air Jordan III Retro for 2007. Just like the “Pure $” Air Jordan Retro III, if you flip down the rubber flap in the back you’ll see the words “Black Cat” stitched. For those that don’t know, Black Cat was a nickname given to Michael Jordan by his teammates on the Chicago Bulls because they said that best described his playing style.
The counterparts to the Pure Money Air Jordan III’s, these Black Cats take the same name as the all black Air Jordan IV’s. The uppers are made of black nubuck, which is located right above a strip of shiny, black patent leather. Like the white versions, these kicks came with special cement print laces, matching the color of the cheap jordan shoe.
